Hi there, and welcome back to the Teacher Career coach podcast. Today, I'm excited for you to

listen to this episode. We've been getting some questions about being a retired teacher and what

retired teachers can do to stay engaged in education. Today we get to speak with Kathy Shevlin, and Kathy is a retired third grade teacher.

Her careers in the past were teaching, catering, and a nighttime radio DJ, and in retirement,

she stays connected to education by administering the annual L-PAC test,

which measures English language proficiency of students whose primary language is a language other than English.

She also works part-time on game days for the San Diego Padres. Excited for you to
