When I first started gardening, I have to admit planting herbs was more of an afterthought.

Well, maybe not so much as an afterthought. I did plant them and I did grow them. But the whole

purpose for me was to save money because herbs are really expensive at the grocery store.

Over time, though, I have realized that the cost savings is just the tip of the iceberg of what

herbs can provide. Since my first year, I have moved almost all of my herbs into containers.

I still grow some annual herbs out in my regular garden for companion planting and attracting

beneficial insects and things like that. But for the most part, my herbs are now all

in containers. As I have seen the benefits of having the herbs in containers right outside my door,

I've realized that there is a lot more possibility in areas that I haven't yet explored or uncovered

yet. That was why I was so excited to read today's guest's new book, and that is

Sue Gets with her book Complete Container Herb Gardening. She and I are actually going to talk

quite a bit about questions that you have asked when it comes to how to grow herbs in containers.
