Hello and welcome back to Cult Leader. I'm your Cult Leader Spencer Henry and this is a little leader where I read the stories that you send to me. I will look for it. I may detective. I will sloth. I will find it. I will find it. How was everyone's week? Hopefully nice, hopefully good, hopefully pleasant. It's Friday. It's not Friday. Today is Wednesday. And all day I thought it was Tuesday and I was on the phone earlier and they're like, no, it's actually Wednesday. And I said, hey, that's even better. That is closer to the weekend. I know.

I'm breaking the fourth wall right now. It's not Friday for me. Sometimes I do record on Fridays and just pop those suckers out. But today we're ahead of things. It's Wednesday. You know I'm in a good, a good mental place. Let's see on Cult Leader this week we talked about the part two of St. Auburn Street massacre, which honestly such a good episode. I will say it. I really liked the St. Auburn Street massacre part one and part two.

We went over the suspects and just some of the other craziness that occurred afterwards on obituary that came out yesterday. But really it's tomorrow. But it's yesterday today. We talked about I talked about last meals, which I've been wanting to talk about on there for a while like famous last meals. And Madison talked about executions part two, like the most brutal executions. And I was horrified the entire time.

My obituary was probably one of my favorite obituries that I've had thus far is really kind of funny and cute. Oh, for the last meals there. I talked about this one guy in Texas who pretty much ruined the last meals for everyone. Like people weren't able to request them anymore after how gluttonous his requests were. So I don't know. It's a good listen. I thought it was interesting. Now what else?

What else do I want to talk to you guys about? Okay, the Lula Rich. We talked about that on at the end of Monday's episode briefly. But I want to do a full episode on it. And I'm actually talking to someone right now that will be would be an ideal guest for that episode. So I'll let you guys know. I've become the person full on dad mode that falls asleep the second I turned something on. And I'm like on the couch. I woke up the other night. And I don't know about you guys. I'm not a napper.

I'm not good at taking naps. I always wake up and I feel like I time traveled. I feel deranged and I unreasonably angry. I would say when I wake up from a nap, I don't get the like refreshed. Oh, wow. Just I needed that. I feel reenergized. I wake up. Like you hit me with a car and put me put me in a trunk.

Drunk drove somewhere buried me in in a well perhaps. And then I crawled my way out and I said what year is it? And you told me it was a year that's very different than the year that I thought it was. That's how I feel. I and I also feel like I was drugged by something.

So that's what naps are to me. That's how naps make me feel. They make me feel insane. I get emotional. There's times where I'll wake up from a nap and I'm so upset that I want to cry.

I don't know what that is or what that means. I just don't like them. On that note, let's get into some emails. This one had the subject line. I got asked to join a cult twice. I'm scared I've read this because it's from June. And I feel like I read it in June. You tell me.

I guess this is high Spencer. My best friend showed me your podcast about a year ago and I've loved it ever since. I made college student at the University of Colorado Boulder and started last fall. I was walking alone on campus one day when a red headed woman stopped me. She seemed a little older to be a college student but I didn't question it. She asked if I would mind answering some questions for a survey which happens often on campus for clubs and whatnot so I agreed. And she pulled out her phone.

The first question she asked was if you were to die today, would you go to heaven or hell? That's not going to go anywhere good. I was a bit taken aback at how she said it and I said heaven I would hope she asked a few more questions like do you think God is good or evil? Are people good or evil? Just a lot of questions that were very extreme and there was no in between. She that you know what? Well, I'll save my thoughts for the end. She then asked me for my phone number and I got weird vibes from her when I got my phone out to get her number so she didn't have mine.

She took my phone from me and texted herself. No, no. She told me that she was recruiting for the Resurrection Church and that I should come to service on Sunday. I asked where that church was because I had never seen it and she said they ran out of conference rooms in hotels to hold service. This was a major red flag.

I told my friend about what happened and she said that she was stopped by the exact same lady on the other side of campus. I didn't go to the service because it freaked me out and I ended up running into her again about a week later. I had my headphones in walking on campus and when she tried to stop to talk to me, I pretended I couldn't hear her. She grabbed my arm. No, it made me stop. She said I didn't see you at service. And I told her that I got caught up studying.

I said I was late for class and had to go and I ended up doing some research and found out that those are adults not students and they aren't even allowed on campus. Apparently a former student came out about her experience in the quote church and talked about how they tried to give her an exorcism for not coming to Bible study.

Ashlyn, thank you. I have a lot to say about this one. So first of all, why? And a lot of times it's always churches, but they get so aggressive sometimes they'll be like, do you think you're going to hell? And it's like, what? I mean, I'm like, problem.

I don't know. I don't know what it says. Well, because I don't know if we're going off the Bible, probably I think most of us are. I'm seeing some mixed fabrics out there, but that's crazy. Also the worst thing in the world. This hasn't happened to be with someone like this.

But when you go out or you're at a bar or club or something, I've not been to a club in a very long time. But when you're out and someone asks for your number and you're like, Oh, yeah, like I'll text you and you just are clearly you're not you're not going to you know you're not going to but then they're like, OK, text me right now because it's always like, fuck. I've had it happen before where I had someone asked for my number and I was like, Oh, yeah, yeah, it's this and I lied and they were like, did you get my text or they were no, you know what it was they tried to call it and my phone did not ring.

And I was like, Oh, weird. Oh, I must have I'm off by a number. That's why you always got to just make it off by one number because then you can act like, Oh, my bad, my bad. Horrible. Also, yeah, OK, they have to run a room at a hotel every time. Seems really sketch. Let's see this article. Shall we? I'm pulling it up. It's from CUI independent.
