We were doing the Grunge Classics.

We're doing Jeremy by Pearl Jam versus Black Hole Sun by Sound Garden, two of like the biggest towering hits of the Grunge era.

Yep.

And we kind of realized afterwards that we were just like, oh, this is going to be a very

dark episode.

I wanted to do something with Black Hole Sun.

Jeremy ended up being the song that seemed to make the most sense.

I was very excited to do this episode.

And then in the research, I realized that it is unavoidably a serious

episode so it will try to sort of we're entertaining we can be entertaining talking about dark

subject matter I'm sure sure I mean I'm just saying that I'm I didn't come into the episode

deciding I was going to do a bunch of hot takes but but I think that they're, they're like a, it's like a, a road full of potholes. I'm going to hit a couple. Yeah, it's going to be unavoidable. There's some dark stuff going on in here. Yeah. Well, I mean, if he, if you don't know, Jeremy about Pearl Jam is a song about a suicidal teenager.

Yep, based on a real kid who committed suicide in front of his classmates.

Yes, and grunge is itself a horrible spectacle of death in hindsight.

Because, you know, the most famous guy, Kurt Cobain also shot himself.

Yep.

And Chris Cornell just killed himself two years ago.
