Summary

While God (in the D&C), Joseph Smith, and most Mormon Prophets certainly knew who the Lamanites were, DNA Science has put the modern Church in a precarious position. Today, The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints claims not to know anything about who and where the descendants of the Book of Mormon people are even though the record was explicitly preserved for them.
