Summary
Description: Join John, Jenn and Mike from LDS Discussions as we break down the “translation” of the Book of Mormon. Did Joseph use the “spectacles” and breastplate found with the Gold Plates? Or his seer stone and a hat? Or the “Urim & Thummim”? Or nothing at all?
Does it even matter?

| 0:21.3 | I super loved our discussion last time about the Golden plates. |
| 0:25.4 | I think it was brilliant. |
| 0:26.4 | You know, I think it's fun just because, like I said, it's like for those who are |
| 0:29.8 | listening now who haven't watched the first two or listened to me probably should go back and do it |
| 0:33.8 | because these are going to try to build a bunch of other and in a way I think it'll make more sense. |
| 0:38.8 | And that's why for me, I thought the Golden plates one was a lot of fun because you hear the correlated story |
| 0:43.8 | and then when you go through and dig into it, it's actually more, it's actually cooler to learn the real history |
| 0:48.8 | because you can understand that whole worldview better and you can understand how Joseph Smith would have came up with it and done it. |
| 0:53.8 | But at the same time, it's not as cool in the sense of it's not what you were taught. |
| 0:57.8 | But I think it's just, I mean, to put it a different way, like people will go, why do you talk about this stuff if you don't believe? |

| 1:06.8 | I was a convert and I'm still technically a member. |
| 1:08.8 | But at the same time, I find it like truly fascinating when you're trying to, when you find like a new tidbit that fits into something really well. |
| 1:15.8 | And so like I said, I thought the last episode was fun just because it continues off treasured digging. |
| 1:20.8 | And now it like springboards right into the next one, which is kind of the way that, like I said earlier, |
| 1:25.8 | it's like these pieces fit together really well. |
