And today we're discussing issue 14.6, which goes back to an old favorite, the Assyrian Empire at War.

We discussed it a long time ago in issue, I think it was 5'4, so that's nearly a decade ago.

And we figured it considering the fact that they are one of the, if not the first professional army with an empire that they built with it and lasted over

several centuries.

They were, they were doing another issue and another discussion.

And we have a few question from patrons that we could look at and we could look at some larger aspects of Assyrian warfare

and why it's important for ancient historians who are more used to talk about Greece and

Rome to look a bit further east at the empire just behind Asia Minor.

Shall we kick it off with one of the patron questions?

There's two that Brian and Abram both posted questions that are somewhat naval inclined,

which is not immediately what you think of with the Neo-Assyrians.

Brian asked, was there any naval overseas expeditions by the Neo-Assyrians. Brian asked, was there any naval

oversea expeditions by the neo-Assyrians?

And Abram asked, did the Neo-Assyrians pioneer

any new forms of sea combat or sea ship types?

I think the one that sort of comes to mind is,

I think you've got Sena Chab, who in the very early

eighth century, I think it is, who goes against Elam along the Persian Gulf.
