And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved.

| 0:27.0 | And yes, they've happened on a spiritual level or in the spiritual realm, but it is a realm or a dimension that is parallel to the one we are. the |

| 0:37.0 | And we hear that kind of talk in fantasy movies or in science fiction shows where there's an alternate dimension. |
| 0:45.4 | There's something separate from this world we live in but it's just as real. |
| 0:50.2 | And somehow the characters, it's explained through magic or some kind of a thing that the person is able to move back and forth between the dimensions. |
| 0:58.5 | We're all for hearing that in a fantasy story or a science fiction story. |
| 1:04.4 | But when it comes to our real life because we're so grounded in this tangible earthly realm |
| 1:10.2 | that we live in, it's hard for us to grasp the possibility that there really |
| 1:15.3 | may be other dimensions and that the scripture actually says there are other |
| 1:20.4 | dimensions and that we live in both of them simultaneously as |
| 1:25.0 | believers in Christ and that all sounds fantastical. I realize that. But I'm |
| 1:30.4 | going to dig into it here in Ephesians too to show you what I mean. |
| 1:33.0 | And we highlighted yesterday that before coming to faith in Christ, |
| 1:37.0 | the scripture here says we were dead in the trespasses and sins. Our spirit was dead. We did not have the capacity to respond to God. |
| 1:47.0 | Spiritually speaking. We didn't have the capacity to relate to him, to interact with him. |
| 1:52.0 | And so if you hear people out there who are non-closures, the capacity to relate to him, to interact with him. |
| 1:52.6 | And so if you hear people out there who are non-Christ followers, who reject Christ |
