This week, President Trump announced his pick to fill the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat on the Supreme Court. Justice Neil Gorsuch, who currently serves on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, has sparked a lot of controversy among progressives over social issues, but what about his views on tech? With a solid record on warrant requirements and 4th Amendment issues, should the Left find comfort in having “another Scalia” on the Court? Gorsuch has been critical of the growing power of the Executive and regulatory state. Does his nomination mean the end of “Chevron deference" for the FCC and FTC? 0:11.6	President Trump last night announced his pick for SCOTUS, as we call it here, a bunch of DC latte-sipping elitists that we are.
0:19.3	And his name is Neil Gorsuch. He is currently on the 10th Circuit
0:23.0	Court of Appeals in Denver. And while much of the controversy currently centers on social issues,
0:28.7	we're going to talk about tech policy today. And he has ruled on cases involving email privacy,
0:34.1	antitrust, internet sales tax, and tech policy folks are trying to figure out what
0:38.6	this means for those issues.
0:41.1	So joining me to discuss this are two fine Tech Freedom scholars, Ash Kazarian, legal fellow
0:47.0	at Tech Freedom.

0:50.0	And of course, Baron is here and we were all very shocked to find out that he was not going to be
0:55.1	picked for Supreme Court, given that we work right next door to the institution. So here is

1:06.0	Well, it is right across the street. And at least I have a consolation prize, which is that
1:09.7	Neil Gorsuch went to my high school and spent his time geeking out in the same activity I did which
1:16.1	was not model UN but model organization of American states I have a great picture of him
1:21.3	from 1986 it could have been me in the mid-90s yeah and just like just like last night, it could have been you, but he picked him.
1:29.6	Give me another 10 years.
1:30.8	Yeah.
1:31.5	Well, that's the thing.
1:32.3	He could have got a much younger libertarian on the court.
