Childhood sexual trauma is a taboo topic that is rarely discussed openly. We lock our pain away deep within our brains, we naturally want to reject it. But attempting to hold these feelings in, or pretend they don't exist, doesn't work—the pain simply finds another way to come out, through addiction, lashing out, disease. We need to see the trauma, feel it, talk about it, release it. In order to completely heal, we need to fully embrace and accept our past pain, and be grateful for it.
