Hello and welcome to Bible Stories.

Thanks for joining us today as we continue our Easter Devotion series as we look today

at the events of the Saturday before Easter.

The next day on the Sabbath, the leading priests and Pharisees went to see Pilate.

They told him, Sir, we remember that the deceiver once said while he was still alive,

after three days I will rise from the dead.

So we request that you seal the tomb until the third day.

This will prevent his disciples from coming and stealing his body and then telling everyone

he was raised from the dead.

If that happens, we will be worse off than we were at first.

Pilate replied, Take guards and secure it the best you can.

So they sealed the tomb and posted guards to protect it.

Let's pray.

Father, we thank you for Jesus.

We thank you Lord on this silent Saturday that in the midst of the unspoken grief that

certainly has captured disciples, his followers.

Father, we know that tomorrow we have the benefit of knowing that the next day Jesus will return.

So Father, in this day of mourning on Saturday, we are so grateful that we have the hope

of tomorrow knowing that Jesus will rise.

So Father, I pray that you would help me and help us to remember that no matter how bleak

our situation is, particularly now we believers today know that there is hope.

And whether Jesus comes to us or we go to him, no matter how difficult the situation
