When we start losing our hormones, we start to lose bone.

I'm going to talk about estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

These are the ones that scare women, and the narrow view of that is that they're only good for reproduction,

and that is furthest from the truth.

And certain periods in a woman's life, the four piece, puberty,

postpartum, perimenopause, and postmenopause. And bone loss can happen early in puberty. It can

happen in perimenopause and it can happen in postmenopause. People only start to think about

their bone when they hit menopause. People only start to think about their bone when they hit metapause,

but when a hormone is out of balance, you need to replace the hormone that's too low. I do think

that people have a very, very limited view of what hormones are and what hormone replacement therapy

does. They think either it's not for them or it's dangerous.

But these are extraordinarily important for bones.
