Summary

This week I am honoured to welcome back Diego Perez onto the show. Diego Perez is a meditator, writer, and speaker who is widely known on Instagram through his pen name Yung Pueblo. His written works focus on the reality of self-healing, the movement from self-love to unconditional love, and the wisdom that comes when we truly work on knowing ourselves. Diego's practice of Vipassana meditation has given him a deeper understanding of liberation that inspires his writing. Through writing and speaking he aims to support the healing of the individual, knowing that when people release their personal burdens it helps humanity build a global peace. In this episode Diego shares how meditation practice is a profoundly transformative path, and his primary vehicle for growth, healing and freedom. We anchor into how to traverse serious transformation on both an individual and global level. How to dance in nuance, how to practice love in its purest form, and how to deepen our connections rather than our attachments. The name Yung Pueblo means young people; it serves to remind him of his Ecuadorian roots, his experiences in activism, and that the collective of humanity is in the midst of important growth. You can connect with Diego on Instagram @yung_pueblo, and find his new book Clarity & Connection, here.  ~~~ Discover: The power of mediation and silent retreats "In silence is who you are." Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to the Markrofts podcast. You know, whenever we as individuals

0:14.9

combine with anything, you know, anything outside of ourselves, it's really intriguing to explore how we relate to that

0:25.7

thing or that person and where do we have friction, where do we bump up against things,

0:30.9

how does our conditioning lead to that? And the version we are capable of bringing in different environments, different circumstances with

0:39.6

different things, right? Like different objects, different foods, different relationships,

0:46.3

and how we might have more resiliency in one than another. We might have more, we might have more

0:53.1

potential to overindulge or to lack of boundaries or to be

0:57.6

too guarded or rigid, right? Like it's when we start to explore that part of ourselves,

1:03.7

that relatingness, I don't know if that's a word, but you know what I'm saying, that when we start

1:09.7

to explore that with curiosity of like, what's that coming up there? We really open ourselves to a level of awareness

1:17.8

that will empower us to deepen our relationships because we'll see these opportunities,

1:24.7

these frictions as opportunities for deeper exploration, for deeper healing,

1:31.0

for an opportunity to understand another person in a different way. That's my hope always with

1:37.5

every episode that I create is that there's, it's not just about romantic relationships. As I said

1:42.7

this, you know, it's like it's about you.

1:45.4

And it's about how you interact with the world and what you make things in the world mean about you too.

1:51.6

And how unconscious things drive perhaps a fear-based response.

1:56.3

And you to shut down or to experience anxiety, you know, because we're not conscious of even the

2:02.5

information we're taking it. And we are certainly as a collective sort of holding a lot right

2:08.6

now going through a collective trauma and an initiatory process, as Francis Weller would say,

2:17.1

which if you haven't listened to that podcast episode, I encourage you to go back and listen to Francis Weller would say, which if you haven't listened to that podcast episode,

I encourage you to go back and listen to Francis Weller. So this is all to say, thank you for being
