Summary

Recently the Thomas Jefferson Hour was contacted by long term listener Vince DiPiazza, the city manager of Uvalde, Texas. Vince wrote, "My community is broken, and we have to figure out now how to come together, pick up the pieces, and try to make some good come out of this terrible event." Clay Jenkinson invited Vince to join us in conversation and speak about the character of the community of Uvalde and his thoughts about what can be done to avoid tragedies like this in the future.

politics, by national law enforcement and so on, by Congress, that the pressures on

1:08.6

the mayor, on the city council, on the city manager and their staff have to be gigantic.

1:16.6

And so even that he had time to spend with us to talk is interesting to me.

1:23.6

And I thought he had, you know, he really did not want to talk about the great national

1:28.4

U.S. gun debate.

1:30.6

He wanted to talk about what we can do if nothing changes in our gun laws.

1:38.2

This was really hard on me, you know.

You've had, you've, you've undergone something similar to some of this.

1:45.6
