fermenting is overwhelming. I remember whenever I first got married cooking in

general was new to me. I wasn't even near ready to start baking my own bread and fermenting

sourcrowd. The place that I started was just by getting some recipes. I

used to be subscribed to the real simple magazine. I remember they had an article where there was all these

different recipes that you could create with the same ingredients and I started there and

just got a basic understanding of which herbs and spices

taste good with which meats and how to cook a chicken properly. I didn't get

into fermenting foods for probably two or three years into marriage.

It took me a while to feel comfortable enough with the basic ingredients to even get to that point.

The first place that I started incorporating fermented foods into our family was with dairy.

So when Ruthie was about 18 months, I started learning about the benefits of raw milk and

lucky for me there was a dairy right in our town actually just

about 10 miles north but they delivered to our town that we lived in and they were

awesome raw dairy they also made raw cheese and so it was really easy for me to find access to that and I started making Milk Kiefer.
