Hello and welcome to the Mark Groves podcast. You know, if you've been listening to me for a while,

then you know that I love me some Ram Dass, some Alan Watts, some Wayne Dyer. I love when there's this

merger of the psychological with the

spiritual. And I, you know, I think Bray Brown really accentuates that too, and she does it with joy

and humor. All of them did. And I think that points to one thing. What the hell are we doing

with our lives if we can't laugh at the ridiculousness of it too as we're hurting and we're

breaking and we're healing and we're cracking and we're you know doing all the things that we're

able to just have a laugh and find joy that joy doesn't have to leave because sadness is present

that we still need to find humor you know that we still need to connect to the lightness.

And that's such a beautiful thing, teachers that can offer that. And I, you know, when we're too

much in the linear, into our heads, into the science, you know, like that saying, if it can't be

measured, it doesn't exist. As Brunee Brown talks about in her famous talk, the power of vulnerability,

I think there is something to that, like when we're so constricted,

when we're so linear, when we're so data-driven,

that we don't have access to miracles, the spiritual, the realms,

that we can't possibly know how everything works. I mean,

it's important. We just don't know. Think of what we call junk DNA. Is it actually junk DNA?

Or do we just actually not know how it works? And so in the arrogance of humanity, we say it's junk

DNA. You know, like, well, we don't know what that is or it has no use so you know

then it must not be useful junk DNA throw it in the garbage and I don't know what junk DNA is

but I do know that when we're stuck too much in the linear we're too rooted we're too firm we're

too stiff we're not flexible we're not open and it's much like if you're too much in the linear. We're too rooted. We're too firm. We're too stiff. We're not
