The first story is my cousins.

She has shared these experiences with me since we were teenagers.

And they take place in her parents house, the house she grew up in.

Apparently before my aunt and uncle bought the home, it was owned by a family who were in a religious cult of some kind.

And they had to renovate the place to make it habitable.

The home is on the south shore of Long Island.
