Summary

I started this podcast in 2022 when I decided to start taking social media seriously. I was so afraid of what everyone thought of me (hence why I called it Trying Not to Care), and I wanted to please everyone. I soon realized that no matter what I do, I cannot please everyone. Today’s episode is a reminder to not lose yourself trying to get approval from others. The things someone dislikes you for, someone else might love you for. Be true to yourself because regardless of how amazing you are, you’re not going to be everybody’s cup of tea.

0:24.8	but everyone was losing their marbles. Like every influencer was posting this trend on TikTok being like,
0:32.8	I lied about this. I lied about working out. I lied about this thing that made me blow up on social media.
0:38.4	Thinking that the app was going to go away and how the app is back and everyone's like,
0:41.9	wait a minute, wait a damn minute. And my question is, besides the fact of like, why are you lying to
0:47.0	your audience? It's like, what did you think was going to happen? Like, did I really think
0:52.3	TikTok was going to go away? No. But also, you have other social medias.
0:56.1	It's not like after TikTok goes away, you banished from the earth and no one sees you again.
1:01.1	Like, people are still going to remember that you lied. Whether you go to Instagram or YouTube,
1:06.4	I don't know, it was crazy. But TikTok did go black for less than 24 hours. And in that time, people were
1:13.6	forced to go to Instagram Reels, to go to YouTube, to find different ways to get media and
1:20.5	watch their favorite content creators. A lot of content creators, too, were like, oh shit, now I'm
1:25.6	unemployed. Like, what do I do? Like, do I go and post on
1:28.8	Instagram now? Do I go and post on YouTube? Like, what do I, do I start a podcast? What do I do? Also,
1:34.4	a TikTok being banned. There was a wake up call for a lot of people being like, okay, this is a fresh start.
1:39.8	I should start posting on social media because now everyone kind of has to start new and
1:44.7	everyone's at the same level. So let me get ahead of it and try to build a following and do this
