but one of the things that we haven't talked about much on the show in the past is the written word.

And in particular, what are things that we can do in our writing and how we're formatting

and structuring our writing in order to be as effective as possible of getting our message

across and it resonating with others and

also not putting up unintentional barriers in our writing and this is something that

I see a lot that many people who are otherwise talented in many other areas put up many

barriers in their writing and how they utilize the tools available to them and that's why I'm really excited to have

Matthew Butterick on the show today. Matthew is the author of the book

Practical Typography. It is a free resource that's available on the web and

he'll tell us more about the resource but he is an expert in typography and

is someone that I have come across in the last year and the
