Lutheran World Federation past and present Dr Shaw, he's Director of Church

Relations and Assistant to the President of the Lutheran Church of Missouri

Senate. He's author of a new paper titled The Lutheran World Federation

today, Monsieur Day E, Imago-Day E, and the ongoing Reformation.

Hey, thanks. Good to be with you.

So how would you describe the LWF?

The LWF is a secular organization which uses theological language to push a diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice agenda worldwide. What was the initial purpose of the Lutheran World Federation?

Well, it has its foundation in the 1923 Lutheran World Convention,

and it was launched following World War I in a time of

great optimism they hoped it would be the war to end all wars it was launched to

promote Lutheran Church Body Unity and to coordinate post-war relief.
