Welcome to a new week of the Daily Blade, so I'd have you guys here.

0:23.7

So I've told people before that I'm essentially a walking billboard for four things.

0:28.1

One, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Two, Jiu-Jitsu. Three, eating meat. And four, Christian metal. Okay, so a

0:36.3

couple of weeks ago, like any normal, well-adjusted Christian

0:39.2

man, I was listening to some very loud, screaming, angry Jesus music. Then I got on a little bit

0:44.9

of an old-school kick, so I landed on an album that was put out by a Christian metal band

0:49.3

on the metal label Solid State Records back in 2003. It was the album Failure On by a band called

0:57.0

Beloved. So it was the band's only full-length album that they released on a major Christian

1:01.5

label and then the band essentially disappeared. You know, they pop their heads above water with an

1:05.3

EP and a few performances here and there. But for all intents and purposes, their 2003 album was

1:10.0

the only art that that band

1:12.2

left for humanity. So I'm listening to this album, enjoying it, feeling overwhelming nostalgia.

1:17.8

I can literally see and smell my senior in high school self and my stinky bedroom, listening to this

1:23.2

album and trying my best to, you know, do a solo mosh pit. And then I get to track four called

1:28.3

Death to Traders. So this was a big time fan favorite because it had a very intense

1:33.5

crowd participation line. So this band was unique because it had two vocalists. So the clean

1:39.4

vocals were done by their front man and then their screaming vocals were actually done by their

1:43.0

drummer. And about three minutes and 30 seconds into the song, all of the instruments, except for one guitar,

1:49.4

cuts out, and the drummer screams, we were born for battle!

1:53.9

Like, I can't do it very good.

1:55.5

He did it amazing.
