Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, for Friday's Headline Brief, covering the biggest stories shaping America and the world. In today's episode, we cover:

New Leadership in Washington: Tulsi Gabbard is confirmed as Director of National Intelligence, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. takes the helm at Health and Human Services, and Kash Patel inches closer to leading the FBI.

Trump's Federal Overhaul Intensifies: Elon Musk's DOGE team is inside the IRS and Pentagon, targeting wasteful spending and slashing contracts. The goal? Cutting the Department of Defense budget by up to 50%.

Mass Federal Firings Begin: Thousands of government employees receive pink slips as Trump follows through on his promise to shrink the bureaucracy. Some agencies may lose entire divisions.

Economic Shifts Under Trump: Inflation ticks back up, the housing market remains sluggish, and interest rate cuts seem unlikely. Meanwhile, Trump's push for reciprocal tariffs could completely reshape global trade.

The Penny is Dead: Trump halts U.S. penny production, citing soaring costs, and hints that the nickel may be next.

Plus, in honor of Valentine's Day, Bryan shares six pieces of fascinating medical news—from gut health and cancer prevention to brain health breakthroughs.

A good day to you, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Right Report, Your Daily News, podcast.

It's Friday's headline brief, heavy on news, light on analysis, launching us into the weekend

0:27.4

with events that, as ever, are shaping America and the world. We begin with domestic news this morning,

0:34.4

starting with new American leadership, beginning with Ms. Tulsi Gabbard,

0:39.4

as she has been confirmed as America's new Intel chief at the Office of Director of National

0:44.1

Intelligence. Meanwhile, Mr. Cash Patel, he jumped through a key hurdle yesterday on his way

0:49.4

to leading the FBI. His nomination was advanced out of a very important Senate committee.

0:55.6

A final vote on this gentleman is likely to happen later next week. But the big vote yesterday, and this one's pretty

1:00.5

surprising, was for Robert Kennedy Jr. He was confirmed and sworn in as our next secretary

1:06.6

of the Health and Human Services. Now, I say surprising about his nomination because weeks ago, it did not exactly look promising.

1:14.6

But as Reuters and others are reporting this morning, his biggest opposition, which they

1:19.1

judged to be the U.S. healthcare industry and its lobbying groups, they decided to back off

1:24.9

trying to stop his nomination.

1:26.8

And the reason was that they suspected that

1:29.0

Republican senators would ultimately back Mr. Kennedy after being cajoled by President Trump

1:34.1

and he would get the job regardless. And then at that point, Mr. Kennedy would probably turn

1:39.2

the canons of the government on them from doctors to hospitals, from insurance companies to drug providers.

1:46.2

And rather than create an enemy in Mr. Kennedy, they decided to keep relatively quiet in hopes

1:52.4

of currying some goodwill, both with him, Mr. Kennedy, and especially the unpredictable President

1:58.5

Trump. So let's see if that strategy works, as Mr. Kennedy now takes helm of the HHS and promises to make America healthy again,

2:06.7

with big promises to gut and reform those very industries, healthcare providers, and stakeholders who are now trying to make nice.
