YouTube but anyhow this is a very interesting episode and to cut to the chase

unemployment is going to be a huge factor in the automation of technology in our near future but let's jump in with

episode 139 I have Jason Lingren with me. Today we're going to talk a bit about the soon to come, which is a bad way to say it, effects of technology on our world. I've referenced Frank Herbert on this

podcast a number of times primarily because all the way back and I think it's like 65,

I always act like it's the 50s but I'm pretty sure

Dune came out in 65 or something like that. He talks about a thing called the

butlerian jihad where there's like this universe-wide war over computers.

When the war is complete, no one's allowed to have a computer.

And if you're caught with a computer,

you can be put to death.

Of course, you know, the high and mighty still maintain them.

But how could Frank Herbert possibly have known in the 60s what technology was going to

become? And for my part, there's two options he was an insider he

logiced out I'm going to work on the premise that he logiced out and Jason and I are
