Late afternoon on a North England beach, three kids spot an empty wooden boat drifting just offshore.

Something lifts its head over the hull. It has a long beak and reflective eyes.

It stares at them like it wants something. Six years later, it shows up again in a national park, and this time it's a school field trip.

Welcome back to Alone in the Woods.

I'm Darkness Prevails, and tonight we open with two sightings, years apart, of a bird-like thing that doesn't match anything in the books, with feathers longer than her hand,

eyes that reflect light, and the sick feeling that it isn't just a passer-by.

From there, we'll step into a secluded backyard where something rolls through and decides to stay a while.

Then we'll go on a father-son fishing trip that ends with a new

fear. We'll hear how someone's first hunting trip was an important lesson on the dangers of the

wild. And finally, we'll return to what should be the familiar, safe backyard, and learn why the rules should be followed.
