Moving into your dream home should be exactly that, a dream. But for this family, it turned into a disturbing,

It is so creepy. This is the house on the hill. We moved into the house in September,

a two-story home that my wife, Bree, and I, had been dreaming

of for years. It was in a great neighborhood and sat on three acres. Up on a hill, lots of room,

five big bedrooms, huge backyard with a swing set, perfect for our son Mike, who was seven years

old at the time. The house was built in the 1950s

and had been sitting vacant for about three months before we moved in. Our realtor said the

previous owners moved out of state and had it priced pretty high so it took some time to sell.

They eventually lowered the price a bit and we ended up getting the place for what I felt

is a fair amount. We were thrilled

to get the house. Coming from a smaller three-bedroom home, we were over the moon. Sure, it wasn't

perfect. Old wood floors that creaked, a few cracked windows. But as my wife said, this place

has charm. You know those times in life you feel like

you're exactly where you're supposed to be, like it's fate? That's exactly how I felt on moving day.

Bree and Mike were so happy, but I was surprised. From the very first night, something felt

off. I felt an uneasiness in the house, and from there, things progressed.

It started small. My wife couldn't find her favorite coffee mug, only for it to show up on the

windowsill in the living room. My son swore he left his baseball glove in the garage, but we found it on the porch.

We're just not unpacked yet, I told them. Things are bound to get misplaced. In that first week,

items would go missing all over the house, and I blamed it on things being lost in the move.

Then we started hearing noises, a shuffling sound at night, faint creaks that echoed all over the house at all hours.
