On September 14, 1993, an Arizona man named Richard Kenneth Jerf showed up at the home of the Luna family with flowers in hand.

When Patricia Luna, 40 years old, was at the door, the man forced himself in at gunpoint.

At the time, she and her five-year-old son, Damien, were the only one's home.

Richard then bound and gagged the mother and son.

Several hours later, 17-year-old Rochelle Luna arrived and was promptly taken to her bedroom

where he raped and killed her. Albert Luna Sr., age 46, was the next to arrive. He was forced

into his bedroom at gunpoint, where he was

handcuffed to his bed, his head then smashed with a baseball bat. Richard then took the handcuffs

off the man, believing he was dead, and returned to the kitchen where Patricia and Damien were

still bound. Albert regained consciousness and charged at Richard. His attempt was unsuccessful and the

man was killed. Richard then turned and shot Patricia and Damien in the head. With everyone in the
