Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories Podcast. I'm your host John

Delin. It is October 1st, 2020 and I am super excited to have you with us today. Today we have a super

important topic. Over the years, what I would say has been a plague to Mormons almost everywhere

has been what the church has built as an attempt to help people. So basically

for a long, long time, the LDS Church of the Mormon Church has forbidden masturbation and

pornography and then they, because it has become such a plague in their eyes, they have implemented

not only bishops' interviews and worthiness interviews but then eventually a 12-step program,

sometimes it's called an addiction recovery program, pornography addiction, there are other names

for it as well. But consistently over the past 10, 15 years, I have heard that this pornography

addiction and recovery program has been responsible for either causing incredible distress

for individuals and for marriages and in some cases has even been a primary cause of divorce,

of ruining and ending marriages. And for a long, long time, I've wanted to cover this topic.

I actually put out a call on Facebook recently and had several people email me and tell me

their stories this morning. I've been reviewing these stories and they're harrowing. But today we're

going to be interviewing a wonderful couple that's willing to do something very vulnerable in courageous

which is to tell us their story of how the LDS Church is a pornography addiction program,

almost ruined their marriage and how they sort of escaped or recovered or survived that program

and how they became way healthier together after stopping the program. And so that's where we're

going to be covering today. We are live streaming to Facebook and to YouTube. So we want to warmly
