money is the root of all evil and capitalism is all about money so you do the math this is hell but for many

believers money is not only not the root of all evil. It can be the path toward their salvation and making them

closer to God. Sure, it says in First Timothy, for the love of money is the root of all of evil, but why let that stop practitioners of

prosperity Christianity? Imagine having the ultimate faith in capitalism and

that is your faith in money is linked to your faith in God. That the more you outwardly display

your wealth the more you are signaling to your co-worshipers your close

relationship with the Almighty. Of course to attain those kinds of divine riches you may have to go into the same kind of debt that can also help your credit rating.

Your debt goes up, you pay some off, your rating goes up, you collect more debt, and the cycle continues.

But if that same credit rating logic were linked to a religious belief,

the more you go into debt, the more you are revealing your faith in God. Your faith that God will save you from poverty and bring you to a land with

far greater riches than milk and or honey. Prosperity Christianity is

sweeping the globe especially in places that face repeated crises with governments that lack social safety nets or have so deregulated their economy they have nothing to offer to citizens in the form of hope or a future.
