digitalization and they never saw it coming.

First there were the RIFD tags that made sense after all. It was a great way to stop shoplifting but then those

tags became something else something more they were no longer only trying to

stop customers from walking off with merchandise.

They are now being used so management from afar could more fully understand inventory,

what was hot and what was not, and where it was hot and where it was not. Suddenly they could send product to where it was wanted as

quickly as it was ordered. All they had to do was arm all their employees with

electronic devices that have them constantly on the move for the new

more grueling retail work where instead of you building relationships with customers and fellow

workers the few interactions you actually have with the public are negative while you and your

coworkers are at each other's throats. Remember how we are all afraid of losing our jobs to

automation? The new fear is losing our minds and lives,

our actual physical health to digitalization,

which is an actual threat to your life.
