And we've had a lot of guests on the show of late who have been talking about violence conducted by police, cruel brutal violence that is often racialized targeting people of color.

We talked about police crackdowns against political dissent in Turkey, Greece, France, the UK, the US.

It's seemingly happening everywhere and if there is a global uprising, as if there's a global

uprising against police violence everywhere.

So we thought we'd take a break from what appears to be a worldwide revolution against the violence committed by cops to discuss an uprising of another kind.

Columbia has seen weeks of civil unrest as citizens rose up against a new plan

by the government to address an economy collapsing due to the pandemic.

The problem is the new plan is like all of the old plans for Columbia, which repeatedly

makes things more and more unequal as the fabulously wealthy get even more rich and the cost of

everything falls on the backs of the poor. After dozens were killed the government

decided their tax proposal which would have put an unfair burden on

the poor was probably not the best idea and decided not to implement it after all.
