It's something we all encounter in life, whether it's bigger small and it's something

that scares the living hell out of us.

Risk.

But what if it didn't have to?

What if the scariest part of risk is just the beginning where things haven't truly

panned out yet, where that uncertainty still looms, where the light at the end of the tunnel

has yet to surface.

I've spent most of my life avoiding risk at all costs, whether it was only applying

to colleges I knew I'd get into or rarely approaching that pretty girl at the bar, no

one would ever diagnose me with a high tolerance for risk and for good reason.

These however are the unedited stories of 13 people who took the biggest risks of their

lives, some that worked out and some that didn't.

I was burnt out on a high paying job I hated within a company that I loved.

I took a week long trip to New York for business that I extended through the weekend where

I spent a lot of my free time in and out of museums and meeting friends that had moved

there.

In the time I had to reflect, I decided to announce my resignation upon returning from New

York.

I came back and did just that with nothing lined up.

My boss was very understanding and even assisted in helping me find my next job.
