ABOUT THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY:
As the year gently comes to a close, this special episode of Awaken to Joy Celebration Meditations invites you into a sacred pause. Between this week's celebrations of Christmas and Hanukkah, and any other spiritual celebrations, light and love are celebrated in different ways—but the invitation is the same: to slow down, reflect, and soften into gratitude.
This special bonus episode of Awaken to Joy is part of a meditation series I recorded a few years ago—created not for a moment in time, but for moments like this. As the year draws to a close and the light of celebration fills the season, I wanted to offer this meditation as a gift of gratitude to you, my listeners.
These reflections are timeless by design—an invitation to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with peace, gratitude, and inner light. Whether you're celebrating, resting, or simply needing a pause, this meditation is my way of saying thank you for being here.
May it bring you calm, comfort, and gentle joy as one year ends and another begins.
✨ With deep gratitude,
✨ A moment of stillness, just for you
✨ A new beginning softly forming.

| 0:13.1 | the affirmation for this week to focus on every morning and every evening before you go to bed. And that is, |
| 0:25.6 | I awaken my inner joy. I awaken my inner joy. Now, when you consider this affirmation, |
| 0:34.8 | think about how you would actually awaken your inner joy. I want to share |
| 0:42.5 | with you some information from QZ.com and it's Google's former happiness guru developed a three-second brain exercise for finding joy. |
| 1:00.0 | And so this was, I hope I'm pronouncing this correctly, Cheyed Meng Tan, a former engineer who joined Google in 2000 as employee number 107. |
| 1:16.7 | And he actually played an instrumental role in building Google's mobile search function, |

| 1:36.3 | So this is something that he did right along with his engineering. |
| 1:45.9 | He also led these mindfulness classes. |
| 1:48.8 | And he wrote a book called Joy on Demand. |
| 1:52.4 | And he describes how he noticed in his mid-20s that he wasn't stuck with self-loathing and all the pain and negativity that he had experienced |
| 2:12.1 | previously in his life. He said that he used to be constantly miserable, but that he noticed he was becoming a |
| 2:22.7 | happier guy. And he discovered for himself that temperament is malleable. And he noticed that with |
| 2:33.9 | himself, what seemed to make the difference as to transforming his life from what he describes as a miserable person to be a happy guy. |
| 2:50.3 | And how he did this is by recognizing what he terms as thin slices of joy. |
| 3:00.7 | So he describes this as brief little moments that give you immediate relief in some way and you keep applying those |
| 3:12.1 | mini moments and it's like compound interest it adds up to massive change so he gives the |
