Summary

Be sure to check out our ticket options for the LIVE EVENT on July 25th. Check out THIS for more information on the Live Event.  We are back with another breakdown of The Home Edit (Season 2)! We love all things organization and we can often find inspiration from other areas in life other than just in the teaching spaces. We wanted to take an in-depth look at season 2 of The Home edit and share our BIGGEST takeaways and how they apply to teaching.  If you haven’t listened to our first episode of The Home Edit. Check out episode 085: We Watched the Home Edit… Here Are Our Thoughts! where Michelle and I watched season 1 of the Home Edit, separately of course, and then shared all our thoughts on the episode We do want to acknowledge and send our positive thoughts and prayers to Clea from the show.  In April 2022, Clea announced that she has breast cancer and she had a double mastectomy done in the middle of April. Unfortunately, I think we all have been impacted by cancer in one way or another whether it’s ourselves, a family member, or a friend which is incredibly sad and difficult. But, hopefully this serves as a reminder to go to the doctor, get your mammogram, get your wellness checks, etc. because you just never know. SUBMIT YOUR TIME SUCKING HURDLE! We want to know what is sucking up all of your time either as a teacher or just a person. Head over to our website and submit your TSH so that you can have a chance to be featured on the podcast! Today is going to be a chatty episode. And with chatty episodes, we are going to be talking about one of the things that we love, and that is organization.

So back in episode 85, wow, that seems like a really long time ago, we shared our thoughts on the

0:28.8

popular Netflix show, The Home Edits. Today, Michelle and I have both watched The Home Edit Season

2 on Netflix, and we're going to share our thoughts

with each other and all of you. But first, y'all know we've got to have a TSAH. Today's

0:45.2

time-sucking hurdle is from Christy. I teach elementary theater, and my classroom is the stage.

0:52.6

Since the stage is also a shared space, I can't really leave anything on it.

0:57.0

So I wheel a cart in and out and have my office slash desk area in the costume storage room.

1:03.7

I share this office space with our dance teacher.

1:06.5

She and I are totally good about sharing space for desks and such.

1:10.5

But with the costumes also being there,

1:12.9

shortage, storage is a tad short and chaos often rains. How do we fix it? We do, but then it just

1:21.3

ends up in chaos again. Well, you know, it sounds like you have a pretty good start with like

1:26.9

how you're managing a shared space. And it sounds like you have a pretty good start with like how you're managing a shared space.

1:29.4

And it sounds like you may need to just kind of define your routine a little bit more.

1:34.6

So you have to ask yourself, like, what is it that's causing the chaos?

1:38.7

Is it that the costumes are not placed back correctly?

1:41.4

Is it that you don't have the right amount of time or bins or like a defined

1:45.4

space for everything. Determining the problem is going to be the key. And then you're able to kind

1:51.3

establish that routine to maintain that space. So this means that it will take a little bit
