which is why they created 1991's hit television movie sensation, Love, Lies, and Murder, which is the now, I'm like, Love, Lies, and Murder. That is the new Live, Laugh, Love.

There's also a book on this case, which I actually read a really long time ago. I don't know if I ever finished it, but it was by the one and only true crime queen, Anne Rule.

It's called If You Really Loved Me. Anne Rule, if you don't know, you gotta fucking know. She's just the number one true crime writer. She also wrote The Stranger Beside Me about Ted Bundy, who I'd never covered for whatever reason.

You know, hey, you never say never. Maybe we needed to wait for the hype from the Ted Bundy tapes and all that shit to die down.

But I highly recommend watching and reading both of those. I got some stuff to do. I have a bunch of annoying shit to do. Take the car in, to get everything tuned up. I'm going driving up to SF this week to hang out with Olivia, see her new house, see my family, who I have not seen in so long.

So that's what's going on in my life. A lot of boring shit. Come into the cave. I'm gonna tell you a story. No one's getting sacrificed. Not today. We don't have the energy.

Let's paint the picture. Tell us where we are. We are in Garden Grove, California. It's in North Orange County. Have it spent a ton of time there myself. Definitely kind of an in between town. You know what I'm saying? You're picking up what I'm putting down. It's fine.

Right. But it's not necessarily a destination. Just some passing through. There's stuff there. There's some shops, some eateries, very suburban. And today's case is the murder of Linda Bailey Brown. Has it been covered? Sure. But not by me. There's quite a few players in today's story. So you're going to want to pay attention. I'll recap one I can. But it's it's so messy. And there's also so many names.

So let me introduce you first to a 14 year old girl named Cinnamon Brown. So she's kind of the star of the story. Yes, her name is Cinnamon Brown. She's pretty popular. Normal gal growing up in the 80s in Orange County, which I mean, come on. What a time to be alive. Very much. The cheerleader vibe. Just nice, nice girl.

She lives with her dad. He is a 37 year old David Brown. And he had bank. And first of all, I was like, I'm like 37. You have a 14 year old. How old were you? I guess like 20. I guess it's normal.

Especially that people are waiting longer now, but I guess it was normal then. But he was a wealthy computer businessman, simultaneously owning and operating a data recovery business. Though not exactly a looker. You'll see in the pictures. David was a millionaire by the time he was 32, which is attractive in its own right. But always also has a potential to bring the wrong kind of partner. He vaguely, I don't know what it is about him, but he vaguely reminds me of the weepy voice killer.

Not the same voice, unfortunately. We won't be hearing any audio clips of that, but weepy voice killer. I can never forget that voice.
