Hello and welcome to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry podcast with me, Kate Lamble.

This week, the inquiry heard more evidence from the specialist cladding contractor, Harley Fassards.

Now, normally when we put together this podcast, we try and tie together all the evidence we've heard into one

cohesive story. But this week, the evidence given by the three witnesses ended up contradicting

not only what we heard last week, but also what we heard in March when the architect's

studio E gave evidence, and this week's witnesses also contradicted each other.

We seem to be in the middle of that merry-go-round of buck passing,

which lead counsel to the inquiry Richard Millett mentioned during the opening statements.

So we're going to have to take the witnesses one at a time.

Last week, during the evidence of Harley's managing director, Ray Bailey,

we heard quite a lot about the work of one particular Harley staff member.

In Harley, was it the job of the technical manager to assess technical compliance of products?

Yes.

I see.

And at the time of Grenfell Tower, that was Dan Anchorage Jones, was it?

It was.

Yes, I see.

It was Daniel Ancatele Jones, Ray Bailey said,

who would have the responsibility for checking the type of materials used on Grenfell.

But this week, Daniel Ancotele Jones himself completely rejected that.

At the time you worked on the Grenfell Project,

would you have said that you were well placed within Harley to advise on whether particular materials complied with the building regulations?
