a hundred years. In the 1930s and 40s, the trait theory of leadership assumed that people are

born with certain qualities that make them excel in leadership roles. The obsession with traits

continues. Although the dominant theories and academics have shifted over the past 80 years,

common practice shows that most businesses are continuing to operate in the 1930s and 40s.
