Oh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, Hello and welcome to Bible stories. I am your host Matt. Todd is out today because his children, the twins, it's their

birthday so happy birthday, Haman's twins. We hope you have a great one, their

very first. So mom, mom's friends, it's just you and me.

You are stuck with your moon-faced chair boy, Matt. But I couldn't skip this one because mom, friends today we're going to be talking about the golden calf.

That's right we're picking up with our third episode on Mount Sinai. So you'll remember Moses has been having this

insanely amazing experience on top of the mountain of God. This guy has literally

been meeting with God.

Can you imagine that?

But while Moses is having his mountaintop experience, the people of Israel are having a very

different time.

They weren't permitted to touch the mountain. They were encamped down at the base

and ascending the mountain was punishable by death. And well Moses has been up there for a while.

He's been receiving the law, he's received the

Ten Commandments, and it's been in total 40 days. The folks haven't seen Moses, and they're

fearful. So they go to Moses's brother, his name is

Aaron, he's their temporary leader while Moses is on top of Mount Sinai, and they

say, Up, make us gods who shall go before us.

As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt,

we do not know what has become of him.

Mom, seeing is believing to this group of people who are at the bottom

of the mountain and so they're asking for a visible object to follow because

they've been removed from Moses for so long. Now I've had
