Monday Night Raw, 2007 was a bad year for WWE after the Chris Benoit tragedy.

I had to stop watching for a while because it was just too much and as always, wrestling is the most important or the least important things, but thoughts with the family above all else.

However, Raw did of course plow forward including that insane Vince McMahon limo explosion angle.

This sort of sums up the Monday Night show all those years ago. It has no idea what it wants to be, and it just tries things and keeps its fingers crossed, and then get confused that the weird thing they tried was absolute garbage. So what do we get when we actually do sit down and binge watch the whole thing, as opposed to me just shouting at the wall? Why, Sam Miller? Let's find out. Number 12, heel versus heel. So some people will tell you this never works. Can't have two bad guys fighting. Who are the fans meant to cheer for? Of course, it's fair to say that good guy versus evil human is better, but the audience is smarter than that. If you get the basics right, anything can click. This was true with rated RKO who were struggling

after both Edge and Randy Orton failed to win the WWE title at Backlash. They had been in the ring

with Sean Michaels and John Cena and yeah. Lost it. Sina retained and then Edge and Randy fell out.

It all led to a match on the 30th of April Raw and man, it is great. They were brilliant as teammates,

too, so the chemistry is there regardless.

We even got some blood here. Randy got busted open the hard way and the way Ed's jumped on that

he looked like a madman. It's one of the best raw matches of the year and of course they had

been tag champions before all this so there was loads to lean into. The story was unique as well

because they would fall out fight like brothers before refocusing and when they did do this, they tried to outheal each other,

which was very entertaining. Well, you cheated me, I will cheat you harder. It also helped

WW post-Resslemania where they often do struggle. This is really, really good stuff. And given

that it did happen almost 20 years ago, if I was WWE, I would steal it and do it again.
