President Joe Biden says some hostages could come home, quote, very soon.

Sources familiar with the negotiations tell CNN,

a deal to release hostages

taken by Hamas on October 7th,

in exchange for a pause in fighting in Gaza,

could be announced as soon as today.

We are making progress.

I don't think it's worth saying more, even at this moment,

but I hope there will be good news soon.

That was Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,

whose office said the country's government will meet today

to discuss the potential deal. The deal would call for the release of 50 women and children

hostages and a four to five day pause in fighting, according to sources. Three Palestinian prisoners

in Israel would be freed for every civilian hostage that's released. Some families

of the approximately 239 hostages are cautiously optimistic in the meantime.
