Thursday August 22nd. Tonight Vice President Kamala Harris will take the stage

at the Democratic National Convention to tell Americans why they should vote for

her to be the next president.

Her fellow Democrat from California, Congressman Robert Garcia said he's excited for Harris to

meet this moment.

You're going to continue to hear more policy proposals from her.

I think you're going to hear, I think, some exciting messages tonight about how she wants to move the economy forward,

but also make sure that health care costs remain low, her focus on climate, on

access to good public education, and so it's going to be a good night full of policy, but

also folks getting to know the Vice President as a person, and I think both are really important.

She's also expected to focus on another prominent political issue, immigration.

A source familiar with Harris's preparation says she's expected to stress an approach that balances border security and

addressing immigrants who already reside in the US while casting her

Republican rival's policies as extreme. Speaking of her rival, former President Donald Trump is expected to

speak later today at the US-Mexico border in Arizona. The internet has been swamped

with posts about fake celebrity endorsements in the run up to the 2024 election.

The nonpartisan education group News Literacy Project launched a new database today, documenting

more than 550 unique instances of election-related

disinformation.
