hush money trial in New York.

Over the course of 19 days in court, the defense only called two witnesses to the stand while the prosecution called

20 witnesses to testify before arresting their case on Monday.

The last witness the jury heard from was Michael Cohen's former legal advisor Robert Costello, who the defense

put on the stand in an attempt to discredit some of Cohen's testimony. Trump ultimately

didn't take the stand, and he's pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records to

conceal a hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels. Prosecutors allege it was part of

an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 election.

So what happens next?

Closing arguments are expected to start next Tuesday, after the holiday weekend.

Then the judge will instruct the jury about the charges they should consider against the defendant and the rules around their deliberations.
