All eyes will be on President Joe Biden today as dozens of world leaders convene in DC.

The three-day NATO summit could become a public test of Biden's health and cognitive capacity

after his poor debate performance. But the White House is pushing back on the idea that Biden needs to reassure U.S. allies that he is fit for office.

Take a listen to what National Security spokesman John Kirby told reporters yesterday.

We're not picking up any signs of that from our allies at all, quite the contrary.

The conversations that we're having with them in advance is they're excited about this summit,

they're excited about the possibilities and the things that we're going to be doing together

specifically to help Ukraine.

Biden's showing at the debate was met with shock and concern from diplomats around the world.

That concern was compounded because some

believe Biden's opponent, former President Donald Trump, poses a threat to

NATO's future. Biden has some key meetings on his agenda this week, including conferences with the Ukrainian

President Vladimir Zelenski and newly elected UK Prime Minister Kiestarma.

Cooling centers are being opened in Houston, Texas, where a heat advisory has been issued

just one day after a storm barrel brought destruction to the state.

Millions of people have lost power because of the storm, meaning no air

conditioning and the National Weather Service is warning that in some places

temperatures could feel like 105 degrees. Officials say restoring power to hard-hit

Texas communities will be a multi-day job and could take up to two weeks for some

areas. These people in Jasper County spoke to KFDM and KSLA.
