Gene Deckeroff announced his retirement. Of course, I thought Gino was going to retire at the same time that he retired from Florida State,

but he hung on there to do a couple more seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He announced that this will be his last season.

Always wish Gene nothing but the best.

I have told the story before, but we're in a reflective mood.

Gene was good to me from day one. I was starting out in the mornings doing a new radio show,

and I was pretty green and kind of trying to find my way.

And he would come by and still dark outside.

5 o'clock in the morning, drop off dat tapes and all the things that he had that were

recorded updates on FSU and shows that he did for 1270 the team at the time.
