Now then, most code was of course used quite heavily in the second world war

largely by shipping one problem it took ages to spell out a message which meant it was prone to detection by direction finding

So what they would use instead was to think of a burst encoder where what you do is you'd record the message and then fire out a high speed

So it would come up like that and then you'd slow it down at the other end

I loved it, I thought that was completely brilliant

because I was actually lying away this morning thinking of thinking of kind of weird languages we hadn't actually done yet but Morse wasn't one of them

So yeah brilliant, absolutely

Yes, I mean it's always amazed me when you see people who are adept at Morse how fast they go and how natural they are with it
