Comic Geek Speak presents Pants on Letterman. And welcome to the show.

My name is Brian Christman, perhaps better known as Pants from the Comic Geekspeak podcast. And I'm taking this opportunity to talk a little bit about one of my favorite people, David Letterman, and how I came to be a fan of the show and how I got the nickname Pants, which they get it out of the way right away.

His production company right now is called Worldwide Pants,

and I happen to have a small collection of things related to the show and to him,

including some shirts and jackets, one of which is a sweatshirt that says pants on it.

Wow, way back, I guess, in November of 2008, and jackets, one of which is a sweatshirt that says pants on it. Wow.

Way back, I guess, in November of 2006, before we recorded our 200th episode of Comic

Geek Speak, we had a little get-together, and I happened to be wearing this pants

sweatshirt, and during one of the highlights of the evening,

as Matt, one of our co-hosts, just, I guess I was getting on his nerves.

He said, hey, pants.

And the nickname stuck.

And perhaps it's a good thing.

And now I'm known as pants.

That's kind of cool.

Just a little bit about how I actually started watching Letterman.

In 1984, in the summer, I was 14 years old, quite a long time ago. And I just finished ninth grade,

and it was the summer of 1984. And at that time, the Olympics, summer Olympics were being

held in Los Angeles. And they were on ABC and I was out of school. It was summer. So I'd stay up

late and watch Olympic highlights. And when there was something I didn't care for, like I don't

know, maybe a water pole or something,

I was just flipping around the channels, and I came across this show on NBC called Late Night with David Letterman.
