in the forests of Hagleywood near Witchbury Hill in Worcestershire, England. They were

involved in an activity known as bird nesting. A popular pastime among the youth of the era,

were boys who climbed the trees in which birds had made their nests, stealing their eggs

to amass a collection of uniquely blue and speckled specimens. At some point in their

foray into the woods, the boys came across a particularly large witch-elm, a favorite
