Music Hello, delicious friends, and welcome to Who Did What Now, the history podcast that's

not your history class, with me, your host, Katie Charlwood, History Harlet, and

reader of books. It has taken me five times to try and record

this intro because there's a dumbass in a rally car going up and down the road outside my house.

So it's not been fun. Also, have you missed me? Yeah, I've been MIA, I know, for a few weeks. I had a family emergency

and the family member at the epicentre of that is very private, so we will not be discussing

that at this time, but had to go be a grown-up, sort out some stuff and resulted in me having

to cancel some shows and my Edinburgh trip and the stuff that was going to be

happening over there. But everyone has been so kind and gracious because I told them, you know,

the actual situation. And everyone has been so lovely and considerate. Like John D. Ruddy,

who was supposed to be my guest in Letterkenny, the venues that I was going to be

working with, everyone has been just absolutely delightful. And it's just so nice to know that

compassion exists out there on the world. And I like to think that that's what we have. Like,

I might call some people Dix, but we've got compassion. You know what I mean? Yeah. And for

honest, people are called decks. Does it have to be called decks? And it just reminds me of my

favorite, my favorite, like, one-star review was like, she's so unprofessional. She called

somebody a deck. And it's that, oh, they wear a deck, dick though I don't know what else you want for me

but yeah it's it's been it's been a busy couple of weeks and I really wanted to get myself back

into recording again I didn't want to miss anymore and now that I'm back on track like my time

has freed up a little bit more now, meaning that I can record again.

I'm working on the book. I'm going to be looking at book covers. We're like, there's mock-ups
