We're two ministers and two best buddies who love the stories of the Bible and we want to tell you about him.

And today's story, Todd, we're going all the way back to one of our favorites, good old

K.D. King, D. David. K. K. D. King David, that's right.

Matt today, we're going to hang out in a Psalm and you know we don't normally do Psalms where we're typically in the Old Testament or the New Testament as far as like covering some other stories but yeah we're going to hang out in Psalm 23 this is a extremely popular song some might say that it's the most popular Psalm.

And like you said, this has been written by David.

Matt, tell us a little bit about David,

if you would, please.

David was born into no special circumstances.

Commoner.

He was a commoner.

He was a worker.

He had a slew of family, a bunch of brothers.

He was anointed as king.

The prophet Samuel came out to him and he looked through all the brothers and he knew that it was someone in this family and it wasn't the strongest brother, it was the tallest brother, most handsome brother, it was this youngest little thing.

And eventually, God put him in a place to where he had a foot inside the kingdom of Israel

and that he would play the harp for King Saul when he was disturbed.

And then after that we know the story of David and Goliath and then through a series of events,

eventually David, he's already been anointed king, but he becomes the king.

Yeah. And he started as a shepherd and ended up as a king.
