As I record this, it is smack in the middle of the summer and by now, pretty much everybody

in the US at least, that plant on growing tomatoes has them growing at some phase in their

garden right now.

If you're in the South like me here in Atlanta, Georgia, and you started as soon as you

clear that frost-free date, then you may already have harvested a lot of tomatoes by now.

For me, I've had a bumper crop already.

In fact, more tomatoes by this time of year and earlier than I've ever harvested before.

My first full-size ripe tomato was pulled from the plant on June 27th, well ahead of

my July 4th or 4th of July target date.

But then again, I'm growing 43 plants this year.

Now that doesn't speed up the harvesting, but it doesn't increase your yields for sure,

or at least it should anyway.

But here's the thing, in spite of a bountiful crop of tomato so far, I have and currently

deal with tomato diseases just like everybody else.

And while I do everything a human can possibly do to manage and reduce disease pressure in

my garden, the key is you can't prevent it, but you can only manage it.
