in his early teens, dropped out of school in the ninth grade, and was prone to violent

outburst from an early age. He once, when he was in his 20s, fired a shotgun at a crowd of teens who were drinking.

He dated and abused a string of women in Long Island, even fathering four children.

His pattern was to woo a woman, move in with them, live up with them as he drank heavily, and

began abusing them.

His own mother, whom he tried to strangle with a phone court, took out a protective order

against him.

He was in and out of jail from 1940 to 2002.

By August 2007, keeping up with his pattern, he was living with a woman named Sharon Wilson.

The relationship started to sour, but Wilson agreed to let Paul stay in her home in exchange

for construction work around her home.
